Dr. Susan L. Wood joined Phoenix Endodontic Group as an Associate Endodontist in October, 2014 and became a partner exactly one year later. Dr. Wood spent seven years as a partner at an endodontic practice in Colorado Springs before relocating to Arizona.
In 2003, Dr. Wood received her D.D.S. degree and graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. In 2005, she completed her endodontic residency at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine receiving a certificate in advanced graduate studies.
Dr. Wood spent six years on the faculty of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry as a clinical assistant professor. She also served on the Board of Trustees for the Colorado Springs Dental Society from 2007 – 2011 as well as serving as a delegate for the Colorado Dental Association. Charity work is very important to Dr. Wood – in 2004, she was involved in the very first Colorado Dental Mission of Mercy (COMOM) as the endodontic lead and remained involved with COMOM for 5 years.
Dr. Susan L. Wood is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics as well as an active member of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE). Since 2010, Dr. Wood has served on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Journal of Endodontics (JOE). Her committee work with the AAE includes: Practice Affairs Committee – she is the current AAE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE ADPAC BOARD OF TRUSTEES; former chair of the Special Committee on Continuing Education Strategies.
Dr. Wood was recently elected to serve on the AAE Foundation Board of Trustees. Additionally, Dr. Wood is the contributing editor for the Endodontics Edition of the Journal of the American Dental Association’s Specialty Scan.
Dr. Wood is a devoted mom to her son, Oliver and enjoys spending as much time as possible with him and their two Vizslas (Hungarian Pointers).
